How to edit your enquiry Settings
If you often use the same details when lodging your LinesearchbeforeUdig enquiries, you can create default settings so that all future jobs automatically fill in some of your Enquiry Details. This can help speed up the process of lodging your requests. You can change these settings at any time.
To set up your default settings for your account, all you need to do is click the User settings button in the top right-hand corner of the screen:
The editing panel below will appear. There is a grey ? help icon next to the Settings heading in case you need more information:
- Enquiry type: are your enquiries usually for Emergency, Information Only or Planned Works purposes?
- Work category: if you consistently do a particular work category, make your selection here.
- Work type: if you consistently do a particular work type, make your selection here.
- Preferred plan paper size & Preferred plan scale: if you have a ongoing preference as to the plan size/scale for your documents, make your selection here.
- Working on behalf of: are you normally working for Private owners or a Local/Road Authority?
- Name of utility/authority: are you normally contracted out to a particular Utility or Local/Road Authority?
The Save button will revert to an Edit button in case you would like to make any further changes:
When you are satisfied with the settings you’ve made, you can close the form:
The next time you create a New Enquiry, these fields will be preset on your enquiry form. These can still be manually changed within the form enquiry-by-enquiry as required, if anything is ever different from usual on a particular job.
