How to submit an enquiry

To lodge a new LinesearchbeforeUdig enquiry, log in and click the New Enquiry button in the top right corner of the screen:

On a device with a smaller screen, this will be shown as a “plus” + icon instead:

  • Tip: If you cannot see this button after logging in, it is probably because your account needs validating. Please log out, validate your account, and then log in again.

    Next, fill out the details of the work that you are doing. These details are divided into four different sections as below. Click the grey ? help icon to the right of each header to see detailed instructions:

  • Enquiry details: provide details about the dates and scope of works.
  • Notes/description of works: here you can describe your intended work or site in greater detail.
  • Dig site location: search for and then select the worksite.
  • Submit: here you confirm and finalise your enquiry

Each section must be filled out in order. To proceed through the form, click Next. To return to a previous section, click Back:

When you reach “Step 3: Dig site location” and have used the search criteria to find the worksite, a map will load on the right-hand side of the screen:

Use the map’s drawing tools to indicate your work area. For more detailed information, please see our Drawing your dig site article.

Once you have found your location and drawn the area on the map, you can finalise your enquiry. This will send the information to all member utilities registered with our service, who will then respond directly to you with their records.
