Important Notice – SSE Renewables and SSE Thermal Now Live
We are delighted to welcome SSE’s generation businesses SSE Renewables and SSE Thermal as the latest LSBUD Members.
SSE Renewables is a leading developer, operator and owner of renewable energy across Ireland and the UK, with a portfolio of around 4GW of operational onshore wind, offshore wind and hydro. It has an 8GW pipeline of new offshore wind, onshore wind and hydro projects in both markets, including the largest offshore wind pipeline in the UK.
SSE Thermal operates the company’s thermal generation, energy-from-waste, and energy storage assets. It is currently constructing the 840MW Keadby 2 Power Station in North Lincolnshire, which is expected to become the cleanest and most efficient gas-fired power station in Europe when completed in 2022.
SSE is the UK’s largest non-nuclear electricity generator with around 11,600 MW (Mega Watts) of electricity generation capacity in total (UK and Ireland) from the most diverse portfolio of power stations.
Membership of LSBUD will enable SSE Renewables and SSE Thermal to provide their asset location plans to the widest possible audience, ensuring that critical infrastructure is protected and connectivity is maintained.
